When we set off on El Camino for the first time in 2010, my Camino sister Mayra and I embodied the practice of Beginner’s Mind.
Every day, every moment was an adventure – full of new joys to be discovered in a country that we loved. We explored the path and greeted the people we met from a place of freedom, curiosity and wonder.
From that first journey 14 years ago, Mindful Adventures was born.
On each Mindful Adventure, we begin the journey with the practice of the Beginner’s Mind. As we set out along this famous path, we are but one among many following wherever it leads us – physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.
We have made the choice – for the 8 days of our journey - to leave behind all that we know to explore a new way of being. We move forward step by step, little by little, experiencing each moment anew.
And in the process, spark new perspectives that come from deeper self-awareness and our own inner wisdom.
By adopting this attitude of curiosity, we can create our lives from a clean page. Other people are no longer allowed to define our possibilities.
We begin to recognize the places where our unconscious behaviors have limited our experience of life and our relationships with others.
And we start to make choices more in line with our own needs.
By immersing ourselves in the attitude of Beginner's Mind in this way, we have developed the habit of embodying it. And this new habit follows us home into our every day life.
