THE EIGHT WEEKSORIENTATIONLaying the foundation.
A welcoming first gathering to clarify the journey ahead. You'll meet your cohort, understand the commitment, and leave knowing exactly how to begin.
WEEK 1There is more right with you than wrong.
Introduction to the practice and the simple, radical act of paying attention. We begin with the body scan and discover how much of life we move through on autopilot.
WEEK 2Perception shapes everything.
How we frame an experience determines how we live it. We explore the difference between an event and our reaction to it — and begin sitting meditation.
WEEK 3Being in the body.
Mindful movement and the body as an anchor for presence. The experience and information available when we actually inhabit the present moment.
WEEK 4Understanding stress reactivity.
What stress does to the mind and body, and how automatic reactivity takes hold. The science, and the first real space to choose differently.
WEEK 5Responding instead of reacting.
The pivotal shift: discovering the gap between stimulus and response, and making choices inside it. Where mindfulness becomes genuinely freeing.
WEEK 6Handling difficult communications with skill.
Bringing the practice into stressful situations involving other people — difficult conversations, conflict, the relationships that test us most.
ONE DAY SESSION (SAT OR SUN)A day of immersive practice.
A guided, immersive day of practice that deepens everything, and an experience of sustained, unhurried presence through embodying the tools.
WEEK 7Building a practice that lasts.
Interconnection, lifestyle, and the choices that sustain a practice. Making mindfulness a way of living, not just a thing you did.
WEEK 8The rest of your life.
Integration, and keeping the practice alive once the cohort ends. You leave with the tools and a clear path to keep going.

None at all. MBSR is designed for complete beginners — and is just as valuable for those with an existing practice.

For confidentiality reasons, the sessions will not be recorded and full attendance is essential to completing the course. As unplanned absences may occur, please validate your schedule and reserve the live session, retreat day, and practice time for the full eight weeks. If you must miss a session, or know you will be late, please contact your instructor in advance. Please attend as many sessions as possible, both for your own benefit and for that of the class.
